Richard, a native of Nashville, Tennessee
has lived in Florida for over twenty years where he continues to be one of
the top singer/keyboard artists of the east coast of the Sunshine State.
Richard, along with Buzz Cason, Billy Smith, Chester Powers and the late
Johnny McCreery formed Nashville’s original rock ‘n roll band, the Casuals
in 1956.
The band went on to tour all 50 states and Canada with rock stars of the
day including Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, The Big Bopper and
ultimately, The Casuals became Brenda Lee’s first full time back up band
during the time of her mega hits and for several years thereafter.
The Richard Williams As Usual CD, from ArenA Recordings includes a modern
version of the Johnnie Ray classic, “Cry” plus “As Usual”, the Brenda Lee
classic, “Keeper Of The Stars” and rockers “Trashy Women” and “Dead
Letter”. The latter is a new song as well as the lovely ballad, “The
Happiest Day Of My Life”.
Richard’s powerful, yet velvet smooth tones and delivery enhance this new
work, recorded in Nashville in 2001 at the historic Creative Workshop
Studios in both the analog and digital rooms located there. Truly a
treasure of exciting and entertaining music.
