Singer, songwriter, and West Texas survivor...Mike Graham.
He stands alone in the crowd of Texas singer/songwriters
flooding the market these days, with a style so noticeably
shaped by the energy buried in the dry, parched oil fields of
West Texas. Make no mistake, this is a rocking collection of
songs with just enough country sensibility to fit nicely into
the louder, more electric side of the Americana genre.

Ask Bodie Powell where he was born he'll tell you Nashville,
TN but got to Texas as fast as he could. One day Billy Walker
called Bodie to front his band and perform on the Grand Ol' Opry.
So it was back to Nashville. He went on to join Little Jimmy
Dickens and eventually wound up with country legend Johnny Cash.

From No Depression Magazine:
The DERAILERS’ first album without Tony
Villanueva finds the band in fine form. Co-founder Brian
Hofeldt is not as powerful a
singer as his former bandmate,
but he is a versatile and confident vocalist.
Producer Buzz Cason, a member of the
Rock-a-Billy Hall of Fame, wrote or co-wrote eight of the
album’s fourteen songs. On Cason’s classic “Soldier
Of Love”, they combine blue-eyed
soul and country via Hofeldt’s
passionate vocals. The band also rocks more frequently than
it has in the past, exemplified best by the mid-album triple
punch of “Hey, Valerie!”, “Get ‘Er
Done” and “Cattin’”.
Country is still the
Derailer’s bread and butter.
“You’re Looking At The Man” is a
shuffle supreme, “Cold Beer, Hot Women and Cool Country
Music” is a great album starter and “Every Time It Rains” is
a gorgeous weeper. The spirit of mentor Buck
Owens who passed away in March,
lives on in the album closing “It’s Never Too Late For A
Party”.
